Service Spotlight

When gearing up for your first ride this spring, make sure your bike is ready for the ride too. Here are some things to check over before the rubber meets the road.

Make sure your tires are the correct pressure (Avg. 36 PSI may vary with models).
Check that your battery is fully charged before you make the first start of the year.
2 AMP trickle charge for 24 hours, 48 is even better.
Check fluids.
Check your lights and blinkers to make sure they are functioning properly.
Upon first start up, let it warm up. Check for oil leaks.
Tips and Tricks
On your 99 and earlier H-D®, check your wheel bearings every year and repacked.
When was the last time you had your spokes checked?
If you feel pulsing when your braking, have brake pads and routers checked.
Does your bike stop the way it did when it was NEW?
You may need to take your calipers for a walk (exercise them).
Brake fluid should be flushed every 2 years to rid system of moisture.
Make sure you use the correct brake fluid for your Harley-Davidson® motorcycle.
Avoid one lane riding to keep even wear on your tires./td>
Tires under 2/32 should be changed, stop in and we will check them for you.
Tires should be checked for proper pressure to avoid cupping and premature wear, 38 psi for the front and 40 psi for the rear
Fork oils should be changed every 2 years or 20,000 miles.
When was the last time you had your cam chain and shoes checked?
If your bike has over 32,000 miles stop in, and we will check it out for FREE.

Battery Life TIps
Get the most life out of your battery!
Motorcycles do not operate like cars. Riding only maintains the current battery charge. If you are not riding your bike, put it on a battery tender. This will extend the life of your battery.
12.7 Volts = 100%
12.6 Volts = 75%
12.3 Volts = 50%
12.1 Volts = 25%
11.8 Volts = 0%
